New functions for the Omicron Laser Tools APP
The Omicron Laser Tools App for iPhone, iPad, Android based mobile phones and tablets has been improved and offers the following calculations:
- Coherence length (now also by wavenumber – in addition to wavelength)
- Beam divergence
- Focal diameter
Now you can also calculate laser beam propagation:
- beam propagation (beam diameter at a certain distance from the laser head)
- Calculation of Rayleigh length (depth and focus)
Calculate laser beam propagation
This tool calculates beam diameter at a certain distance from the laser exit (beam propagation) according to its wavelength, beam quality (M²), beam diameter at the laser exit and the desired working distance from the laser exit.
Please input the laser center wavelength in nanometers, beam diameter at the laser exit in mm (1/e²), the M² of the laser and the desired working distance from the laser exit in mm.
The beam quality (M²) is preset to 1.0 for a perfectly gauissian beam TEMoo beam profile. If you want to change the M² value to a more realistic value or the M² value of your actual laser please feel free to do so.
